Our filter may look a lot like other water filters, but inside is a filtration membrane designed to remove impurities and contaminants. Most standard water filters do not include an antibacterial filtration membrane so will NOT remove bacteria. It is therefore extremely important to use a filter with a proper antibacterial membrane. If in doubt, use an official Tommee Tippee antibacterial filter. Please note that even if the filters vary in appearance, they’ll work the same if they’re Tommee Tippee branded.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eOn average, each Perfect Prep filter should last around 3 months, however this depends on the frequency of use and what size bottles you are preparing. The original Perfect Prep machine features a warning light which will indicate when the filter is due to be replaced and the Day \u0026amp; Night version will display a message on the screen.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eYou may find that there’s a small residue of black carbon in the bag or on the surface of the cartridge. These dust particles are harmless and will be reduced during the initial set up process when submerging in clean, fresh water.
